Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association
BioDr. Radosveta Stamenkova is Executive Director of the Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association (BFPA) www.safesex.bg – leading NGO in Bulgaria and the Balkans in the field of health prevention, peer education, reproductive health and advocacy for vulnerable groups. BFPA is a member of the International Planned Parenthood federation (IPPF) and other relevant international and national networks.
Born in 1965, she is MD graduated in Sofia Medical University, dealing with Public Health. She was afterwards part of intensive training program of the Institute for Policy studies of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Numerous and various post graduate trainings and specializations throughout Europe formed her as one of the outstanding figures in civil society, health prevention, non-profit management and strategic partnerships in the country and the CEE region and a master trainer and trainer of trainers in the fields of NGO management and public health, including HIV prevention, youth adult partnership, Roma inclusion and peer education. She has more than 50 macroprojects in the field of health, education, advocacy and social inclusion and is at same time expert and innovator in consulting, monitoring and evaluating organizations, strategies and projects, in transferring experience, mentoring and managing in EU projects, UN initiatives and activities of the IPPF.
Rada works with and for are young people, rural women, Roma population, health professionals, teachers, media, NGO, municipality and governmental leaders. She is fluent in Bulgarian (native), English, French and Russian.
