The Belonging Forum, in partnership with the Samuel Family Foundation, will host the 5th Global Symposium on Belonging in Toronto, October 14-17. The symposium convenes leaders, learners and thinkers from across the belonging movement, sharing knowledge and lived experience against a backdrop of global challenges.

The theme for the 2025 symposium is “Bridges to Belonging”, focusing on practical pathways to human flourishing. Across four days, participants will explore the theme of belonging through the lens of People, Place, Power and Purpose – naming barriers, sharing strategies, and examining how to measure what we truly value.

The program of speakers and panelists includes a range of thinkers and leaders from around the world, including the Eden Project’s Peter Stewart, Kenyan activist Sophie Otiende, and Kuhluka Movement founder Josina Z. Machel.  The Belonging Forum is delighted to welcome, as special guests, the former Governor General of Canada, the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, and Canadian literary giant Margaret Atwood.
