Fostering a Sense of Belonging

We are pleased to share TakingITGlobal’s new article in the Huffington Post, “Fostering a Sense of Belonging” written by Jennifer Corriero and Adrian Assoufi.

Reflecting on the Sustainable Development Goals related to ending poverty in all its forms everywhere, it is important to consider the role of fostering a sense of belonging. They ask, “If you take a moment to reflect on a time when you experienced a strong sense of belonging, what are the feelings that arise? How can we ignite and increase a greater sense of belonging as a way to promote peace and prosperity across cultures?”

TakingITGlobal had the opportunity to present an international art exhibit at the 2016 Winter Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York. Participants from around the world were able to engage in conversation on the theme of belonging and the critical role the youth have in building their communities.
