The Samuel Centre for Social Connectedness (SCSC) and founding partner Fulbright Canada, are proud to announce the Honouring Nations Canada (HNC) program.

This program will celebrate Indigenous people’s accomplishments and Indigenous ways of knowing. Through research initiatives, scholarly exchanges and new opportunities for Indigenous youth, this program will disseminate Indigenous voices in research, policy, and practice across Canada, celebrating their cultures, innovation and successes. We will work in collaboration with the program’s supporting partners, the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development at the Harvard Kennedy School, Indigenous Works Canada, Luminary Network and the Canadian Mountain Network.

It will be Indigenous-led and Indigenous-informed with prominent Canadian Indigenous leaders forming a Circle of Advisors who will guide the program. Honouring Nations Canada is co-directed by Robin McLay, a Metis person from Victoria, and Candace Wasacase-Lafferty, a citizen of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Candace and Robin have both dedicated their careers to promoting and encouraging Indigenous youth and helping them find the way forward.
